Lowry Community Christian Church was born out of the Gospel Service of the Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado, Chapel Program. This service was started in 1975 for those who were, according to the Air Force, “accustomed to worshiping in a more robust fashion.” Services were held in the Lowry Chapel #1 facility until the base closed in 1994.

When the base closed, the Lowry congregation agreed to continue to worship together and officially incorporated as Lowry Community Christian Church in February 1994. This body of believers always saw themselves as a church family, not just a military chapel service. The mission of the church was painstakingly established, not just by its leaders, but by the entire congregation. This attitude of involvement and commitment continues today in all church activities.

Through numerous moves and tribulations, the church was ultimately blessed with its current home at 855 Yosemite Street. The Lord has both tested and blessed this church. But through its many trials, this congregation has never wavered from its resolve to stay together as a family of believers.
